UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies)

Q: What is the difference between the power as specified in VA and the power specified as Watts?: A: The VA specifies the apparent power. Apparent power includes the reactive and distorsion power component which is not actually abosorbed by the load. The power specified in Watts is the real power absorbed by the load. The ratio between the apparent power and the real power is called the power factor (PF).

UPS - How to discharge and recharge the battery?

Q: UPS - How to discharge and recharge the battery?: A: - Disconnect the power plug from the AC socket.
- keep connected devices to work normally.
- It's fully normal that the UPS begins to beep once every 5 seconds in backup mode.
- If the pc is connected to the UPS, save all data and prepare it to be turned off.
- In case the UPS begins to beep every one second, turn the PC off.
- Connect the power plug to the AC socket again and recharge the UPS for 8 hours.

IP (Ingress Protection) Rating Standard - Lighting

Q: What is IP rating?

A: The (Ingress Protection) standard describes a uniform system for classifying the degrees of protection provided by the enclosures of electrical equipment.

Example, if the light rating has an IP Rating of 44 which means:

4: Protected against solid objects greater than 1mm

4: Protected against water sprayed from any direction - limited ingress permitted

Protected against drops of condensed water. Drops of condensed water falling on the enclosure shall have no harmful effects	Protection against drops of liquid.
